A Flagship to Celebrate Craftsmanship and Discovery

Globe-Trotter has been handmaking luggage in England for more than 120 years. When the brand moved from Albemarle Street to the celebrated Burlington Arcade, they wanted a flagship store that felt true to their heritage and showcased the craft behind each case.

The Challenge
Burlington Arcade is a Grade II listed building, known as “the jewel in Mayfair.” Globe-Trotter’s new home had a compact footprint, split across four floors. This presented both an opportunity and a constraint. The design had to respect the building’s history while creating a layered journey that would surprise and engage customers.

Our Response

We shaped each floor around a different stage of discovery. The ground floor introduced the brand and its seasonal ranges. Upstairs, a living room-like space invited customers to explore core collections in more detail. The basement became a destination for personal shopping, bespoke services and events, with archive products and a small bar to encourage longer visits.

The store’s historic features were carefully restored – plaster covings, Georgian skirting, original balustrades – and paired with subtle contemporary touches like porcelain tiles laid in a herringbone pattern. The shopfront was redecorated in Globe-Trotter blue, with traditional signwriting and a repair desk at the window to demonstrate craftsmanship in action. Fixtures and display cabinets were specially designed and manufactured in the UK.

The Outcome

The Burlington Arcade flagship brings Globe-Trotter’s story to life. It is more than a store: it is a journey through the brand’s heritage, its products and the craft behind them. Customers leave with a stronger sense of the brand’s values – and of owning a little piece of luxury made to last a lifetime.
